The Task
Well renowned as one of the most prestigious houses in the surrounding area, this property is stunning. The clients undertook a whole house renovation, reconfiguring the layout of the building turning it back into a liveable home whilst still respecting the original features. Our task was to embed some of the luxuries of home technology into the fabric of the building.
The Challenge
The first challenge came from the shear size and layout of the property, finding cable routes and discretely positioning equipment had to be carefully thought out. However the greatest challenge on this project came from the fact that the client wanted to be able to separate the “wing” from the rest of the house but only when being let out to rental guests. This meant that the control of the systems in that side of the house had to be stand alone.
The Solution
We installed a Control4 whole home control system, which integrated audio, visual, home cinema and swimming pool control.
The Home Cinema was installed as a dual-purpose room, when not in use the room acted as the holiday home sitting room but at the touch of a button the room transformed into a high-end audio-visual delight. We installed a motorised in ceiling projector screen along with a full HD 3D ready projector and a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos enabled surround sound system. The sound and visuals in this room are truly epic and offers that ‘wow’ factor to the rental guests.
As the property was being let out as a holiday home we had to ensure the system was fully robust and most importantly simple to use. We prepared a detailed ‘Audio-Visual Manual’ that is given to guest during their stay. This document details exactly how to use the system and any troubleshooting steps should the system experience any issues.
